Marc Andreessen, co-founder of the Andreessen-Horowitz Venture Capital (VC) company, said the current race to establish dominance in the artificial intelligence sector is similar to the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union in the late 20th century.
In an interview with Jack Altman on a capless podcast, the VC said that various jurisdictions and cultures are likely to require a trained AI model in materials that are consistent with the concept of accepted social organization. Andreessen told Altman:
“We have a race of two horses. This is becoming comparable to the Cold War against the Soviet Union in the last century. That’s how it is. China has ambitions that essentially imprint the world in the idea of how society should be organized.”
VC says that AI will become “all future layer of control” and acts as an interface that humans use to access critical infrastructure and services across healthcare, education, transportation and legal areas.
“If we can choose between the values of the Chinese Communist Party and the values of the Chinese Communist Party. It’s clear where you want to go,” Andreessen added.
Artificial intelligence remains a technology sector with geopolitical implications, as world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, have vowed to be the global leader of AI for decades to come.

However, this has not stopped analysts, consumers, and even software developers from ignoring alarms about the dangers of artificial intelligence and its potential impact on human civilization.
These scenarios span a wide range of potentially destructive consequences derived from AI development, including the movement of human workers, the automatically activated military weapons platforms, cyber attacks launched by fraudulent machines, and even destroying democratic processes by spreading misinformation.
